Shopping for essential oil

Many are new to aromatherapy and must have heard about being careful with this oil.  1st, how do we identify if we are getting good quality essential oil (EO). I had learn to test the oil on a piece of paper. EO wil diffuse completely leaving no oil stain after a while.  If the shop/maker try to use blended oil to pass off as Pure EO, you will be able to detect in this way.  what you can do is, test the oil on a piece of paper and go on with your shopping at other shops, check the paper again and see how the oil diffuse off.  Another way is to buy only from reputable shop of brand.  I will recommend the following brands.

Jurlique
Aroma Vera
Tisserand
Evans
Natalie

Basic oil you can start with are
Lavendar
Eucalytus
Bergamot
Peppermint
Rosemary
Cypress

These oil has fragrance that are most acceptable and they can be mix and match with each other for very good results or use alone.

Some blend you can try.
Lavendar + Eucalytus - relax and decongest.
Lavendar + Peppermint - Migraine
Rosemary + Cypress - tired feet
Bergamot + Peppermint - Dizziness, nausea

Clarins

I had been using other cosmetic and skincare for years. I decide to shop for something new to try.  I prefer skincare that uses natural botanical ingredients. I am such a believer of aromatherapy and the healing properties of essential oil. The 1st Clarins counter I visited was the one at Tangs Beauty Hall.  I can say that it has been a long time since I had been shown what good customer service was.  The SA at Clarins spend her time to talk me through the different products and is generous to give me a few samples to try. I start with buying a cleanser and a moisturiser from Clarins and armed myself with a couple of samples to venture with. I had extra sample so I gave a day moisturise to my sister for her to try since she is also looking to switch brand and looking for a suitable product.  I brought her along to Clarins and she convert. Even my other sister who tag along purchased a few items. It is the type of service and product knowlege that impresses us.

Due to the location of Tangs which is not convenient for me, I decide to check out the Clarins counter at Robinson Raffles City, oh my, am I pleased to know that the service is just as good. I am quite a picky customer to begin with.  Not many passes my standard of good service. Even the administrative staff right to the Marketing manager has show remarkable customer orientated services.  I bought an item which is faulty by it's make.  I wrote to ask if it is still exchangeable since I had already used the item and had also pass the usual grace period. I bought the item and had left it un-used till about 2 wks later. I offered to bring the item down to the counter for the SA to do an inspection of the product.  The Marketing Manager called me after receiving my email apologising for the inconvenience it has caused me. She left word with the staff to expect me when I go down to change the item.

To be fair, I will continue to review the good service of few other good mannered SA of various cosmetic brand.

Nan Ten Japanese Restaurant

It was the 3rd time I visited this restaurant but it is the 2nd time I ate here. 1st time I came here was with a group of colleagues celebrating one of the birthday. The 2nd time we came, we were a bit late and the place was packed and we have to decide to eat at Lau Pa Sat instead. I had the Cold Ramen previously and it was really good except that it doesn't have jellyfish in it like the one Nanto use to have.

Today I went there again with my colleague and we both ordered the Ramen set which is a Tonkotsu Ramen with Fried Ebi on curry rice. Tonkotsu is the soup base using pork bones. It is biled till the soup is in a cream colour with the rich and delicous taste. Serve with a few think slices of pork and a hard boiled egg with jellied like egg york. The curry was the spicier Japanese curry an it taste much better than alot of other Japanese curry I had before. I am begining to consider this one of my fave Japanese restaurant. The Prawn is fried in the katsu style and not tempura way. After having the Ramen, I don;t feel thirsty at all, it shows that they did not use MSG in the soup. That is what I call authentic Tonkotsu soup. Unlike those I had in places like Ajisen, I have to down with glasses of water after the meal and feel bloated.

I will highly recommend this place.
